The short answer
Get the actual contractor or business name and applicable license information before authorizing work. A referral brand or advertising website is not automatically the licensed contractor.
Use the state’s lookup
The Oklahoma Construction Industries Board links to searches for plumbing licensees. Match the name and license details to the provider. A badge on a website is not a substitute for checking the current record.
Ask about the full scope
Routine clearing, inspection, excavation and replacement can involve different work. Request a written explanation of what is proposed, what is included and who is responsible for permits if needed.
Keep a record
Retain the provider’s identity, scope, findings and any camera images. Oklahoma CIB also publishes consumer home-repair guidance. Resolve unclear identity or authorization before accepting a larger repair recommendation.
